Carving the students with latest and up-to-date technical and soft skill is challenge taken up by the family of SSCET , and undoubtedly , department of computer application is one such pillar of the development Right from its inception in 2001, MCA department has strived hard in developing to provide students an opportunity for academics as well as overall excellence & gaining knowledge. It is a full time, three year course comprising of six semesters, having five theory papers and 2 to 3 labs, excluding the sixth semester where students undertake a six months industrial training which helps them to understand the industry environment and act as a catalyst in procuring job. The Department has all the latest technologies of hardware and software with excellent computing facilities for training, data analysis, program development and research including Networking, multimedia, graphics and hardware. It also has latest audio-visual teaching aids. Internet facility is available to every student. The department at present has four computer laboratories with Window2000, UNIX, LINUX and Novell Netware based LAN equipped with High end Servers, Routers, Switches with P-III and P-IV computers, multimedia projectors, and other accessories. The department has experienced staff which is actively involved in academics as well as research work in the field of Artificial Intelligence, ERP and Image processing. We are also having faculties with industrial background. Latest technical knowledge and practical exposure to students are provided so that they are at par with the latest technical revolution.

Eligibility : Candidate should passes Bachelor Degree from recognized university with
minimum 50% aggregate and Mathematics as computer (not compulsory if BCA) or an additional
subject at either Higher Secondary or at Graduation level. Age limit for admission in course MCA
is 32 years .

Eligibility : for MCA (Lateral)Passing three year degree in BCA or B.Sc. (Information Technology/Computer Science) from any recognized University/institute with minimum 50 % marks for UR category and 45% marks for SC, ST, OBC category and PWD candidates of Chhattisgarh is essential. Passing 10+2 (12th) or degree level examination with one of the subjects as Mathematics is essential. NO ENTRANCE TEST REQUIRED.
Eligibility for MCA Integrated: Passed 10+2 (12th) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.

Student Association
Apart from academics students also take initiative and participate in extra curricular activities and for this a student professional body "ACME " , Association of Computer Masters for Enlightenment was constituted. "Association of Computer masters for enlightment" is the Students Activity cell under Department of MCA. Students take initiative in organizing various activities like cultural, sports, online tests, guest lectures, technical quizzes etc. with full support of Department & Management. It is coordinated and managed by student members elected by fulfilling certain criteria.
